Every Mother, Every Child

September 23, 2010

Every mother, every childJohnson & Johnson has a long-standing philanthropic commitment to the care of women and children.  It is at the core of who we are as a Company and aligned with our ongoing commitment to enhance the health and well-being of people around the world.

A new initiative, Every Mother, Every Child, is a comprehensive, five-year, private-sector effort to improve the health of women and children in developing countries. The initiative supports the United Nations’ April 2010 call for a renewed effort to achieve the Millennium Development Goals of reducing mortality in women and children by 2015.

“Every Mother, Every Child” is expected to reach millions of women and children in developing countries, by providing treatments for intestinal worms, by offering health information to pregnant women over existing mobile phones, by researching new medicines for HIV and tuberculosis (TB), and through other efforts focused on enhancing birth safety and improving health.
Our video “Helping Moms and Children” illustrates this important initiative.

On the Johnson & Johnson website you can find more information on the programs included.
